- Frequent cycling of gas or oil burner – If you notice the burner cycling frequently, with the fan continuing to blow, then you need professional service. - Limited air flow from registers – Whether caused by an air filter problem, a loose fan belt or a problem with the ductwork design, if the air is not circulating properly through your registers, you need to find out why.
- No airflow from registers – No airflow at all means that the motor or the fan has failed or there is a blockage in the duct system. Check to see if the fan is running.
- Air does not seem to stay at the proper temperature – If the unit seems to be operating properly, yet the air in your home is not staying at the temperature you want, then your furnace may be too small for your home or the filter may be dirty or blocked. Check the filter first as a potential remedy, since the size issue would only apply if you had just had your furnace installed.
